"I lived in Denmark for three years, from 1997. I got really into paper and tried making all sorts of different things. One day, I made a model of a famous Danish chair, with instructions, and showed it to my friends. I was so happy and surprised to see how much fun they had putting it together. That was my first kit model. I was especially into moving paper crafts, called paper automata. "Hesitation" and "Doomed" are my first works, but I still like them. From the start, I’ve been interested in the whole world of paper, like pop-up books, packaging, or paper sculptures. Eventually, I realized I prefer making a model that ordinary people can assemble on their own rather than creating precious one-of-a-kind pieces."
