Building automata enhances various skill domains. In order to create an automata, participants follow a series of activities that involve different learning processes:
- Reading / telling / developing a story
- Identifying the key points of the story
- Identifying the images that define the cyclical sequence to be created
- Defining the characters, colors and dimensions
- Identifying and sourcing the materials
- Designing the automata, drawing scaled artistic elements and creating them
- Designing and building the mechanical part
- Assembling the mechanical and artistic part
- Testing the movement of the automata and using feedback to make any necessary adjustments
- Sharing the creation with the other participants.
